Larry Shao and the Taipei Mambo Project (Taipei, Taiwan)

Led by founding director Larry Shao, “Taipei Mambo Project” has performed and taught across Asia cities including Tokyo, Osaka, Okinawa, Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, and all major cities in Taiwan. Established in 2008, this acclaimed group is a registered dance company under Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government. Larry was formerly trained by Mambo Romero Dance Company, San Francisco, USA.

Larry and Jessica are the directors of “La Salsa Taipei Dance School”. Since 2007, the studio has fostered hundreds of social dancers in Taiwan; in addition to teaching, they are the organizing team of Formosa Salsa Festival; they have promoted numerous international artists (Algeria, Enrique & Lorenita, Super Mario, Salsa Mania, JT & Ania, Jorge Elizondo…), held workshops, given salsa music and history lectures, and organized countless local salsa events. La Salsa Taipei is a vital part of the Taiwan salsa community.
